Getting arrested for a DUI in Arizona is a very unpleasant and costly situation and one best to avoid. If you are planning on going out and having fun for the day or evening it is best to use your sound judgment on how you choose to get home.

The first choice for a safe night out is to find yourself a designated driver. This person will agree not to drink for the entire night in order to provide you and your friends a safe means of getting from place to place, then home again. As they will not be consuming even one cocktail you can be assured your ride will be sober.

If you have a friend that doesn’t drink, you might convince them to be your permanent designated driver. Although they might get tired of driving everyone around every weekend. It is always a good idea to take care of this friend to show your appreciation, paying their cover charge at night clubs, buying them dinner, or other demonstrations of your thanks.

If all your friends like to drink and party like you, it may be tough to find a designated driver on a regular basis. The next option on the list is to coordinate a ride for the evening before hand. You can get a limo, taxi, or town car to take you around. It is a little more expensive in the short run, but being safe, staying out of jail, and avoiding jail time costs you less in the long term.

Driving your vehicle should never be an option if you are over the legal limit. However, if you feel you are below this line and still want to drive there are a few things you should do first. Make certain that you vehicle is working correctly. By that I mean all of you headlights, turn signals, and break lights should be working well. And check to see that the cars registration tags are in compliance. Any of these things could be probable cause for a officer to pull you over should they not be compliant.

An arrest for a DUI in Arizona can be a horrible experience and is best to be avoided. If you follow some of these tips you should be able to keep yourself out of trouble. Just remember not to drink and drive.
