Evanston, Illinois is a suburb of Chicago on Lake Michigan directly north of downtown, east of Skokie, and south of Wilmette. Evanston has a total population north of 75,000 people and is part of Chicago’s North Shore region. Evanston Township includes Evanston and a large part of Skokie, Illinois. Evanston is most famous for being home to Northwestern University and other educational institutions.

Rogers Park is the northernmost of Chicago’s community areas and borders Evanston at Juneway Terrace and Howard Street to the north, Ridge Boulevard to the west, Devon Avenue to the south and Lake Michigan to the east. The neighborhood just to the west is often called West Rogers Park, although its formal name is West Ridge. Rogers Park made famous for Loyola University Chicago and the Jesuit religious order.

Need counsel from a north Chicago bankruptcy lawyer? There are many ways to find an attorney. A popular web service that started up a couple years ago is Avvo. This site rates lawyers and would be a great place to start looking for a bankruptcy attorney. It never hurts to check out Google, if you type in “north Chicago bankruptcy lawyer” you will get plenty of results in the local listings. Call up the first few lawyers that show up and ask for a free consultation.

There is plenty of free information online to help you do your homework. There are some great forums with personal stories that you can relate to and learn from. You can get help from the forum moderators – a great site I’ve used in the past is BkForum.com. You can find help on which credit cards have the best rates, how to repair your credit score and what information you need to qualify for a Chapter 7 bankruptcy.

Try online law directories, there are many that have taken the time to compile lists of lawyers and pre-screen them so you have a nice list at your fingertips. There’s always the trusty phone book if you’ve managed to keep one around (I end up recycling most of mine as soon as they come).
