Getting a dual citizenship is a great way of covering your bases. It sounds like stuff from a spy movie, but it is a perfectly legal way to enjoy the benefits of both countries, the country of our birth and the country that are a national of.
You can benefit from the economies of both the countries. You can earn in both the countries and this is definitely an advantage. Now you have the right to live and earn in a country of your choice.
This is definitely an advantage in the current economic slump. If you find that the country of your birth is very expensive, you can simply move to the country you are a naturalized citizen of. You have the right to live there, work and what is more, since the cost of living is less, you can lead a comfortable lifestyle.
You can shift out of the country of your birth and live in safer environs in case of political unrest or if you have been victimized due to your religion and political beliefs.
To increase your investment and avail of a more beneficial tax system, second citizenship can prove advantageous. Certain countries put a ceiling on the investments you make. Others do not. Some countries are unpopular due to their policies and if you belong to such a country you may be unfairly treated when you travel. If this is the case, you could simply travel on a passport that is more acceptable and have an easier time.
Getting a dual citizenship does not mean that you do not love your country. It makes practical sense in these days of global travel and business. It can, if done right, prove advantageous financially and otherwise.
